ok–fall mini sessions!!! let’s do this!!

spots are first come, first serve!

cost: $250 per session (this includes sales tax). no other fees!

what you get: 30 minute session + online gallery of images + 15 edited images of your choice with printing rights

when: November 1st and November 8th

where: Frank Liske Park in Concord, NC… near the beautiful pine trees :)

**photo proofs will be ready within the week; edited photos will be available two weeks after your session–just in time for Christmas!

**once you have reserved your spot, your tickets are non-refundable

**in the case of inclement weather, we will reschedule the 11.1 shoot to 11.22 and we will reschedule the 11.8 shoot to 11.29. please make sure both your shoot date and your inclement weather date work for you! Just in case!

where do I go when I get there?

we suggest you park by the barn at Frank Liske Park-you can’t miss it!-we will be taking photos nearby and it provides easy access to bathrooms. :)

how early should I arrive?

please try to arrive at least 15 mintues before your scheduled shoot—we know how crazy life can be (especially with kids!), but we will need to start RIGHT when you are scheduled. other families will be waiting for the next slot, so we want to do our best to respect their time.

what should we wear?

wear whatever feels comfortable to you! We suggest avoiding being too ‘matchy’ if you are doing a family shoot (no need to all wear the same color shirts and pants). Unless you are planning on wearing ugly Christmas sweaters. in that case, match away!! :)

what should I bring?

feel free to bring any blankets or props you want!

jackie and matt are oh so very cool.

they had a destination wedding in asheville, nc…and their style came through in every detail.

how would i describe their style? i have no idea…which makes it even cooler. :)

Mo and Calvin wanted to do something special and slightly out of the box for their wedding. They knew they wanted it to be intimate, they knew they wanted it to be relaxed, and they knew they wanted it to be D.C.

They nailed it. We showed up at their apartment in the morning, walked with them and their pup to get coffee and breakfast, documented Mo getting her hair/makeup done at St. Germain downtown, went to the historic Mayflower Hotel as they helped each other get ready, then watched them, along with their closest loved ones (I think like 11 or 13 people?), get married at the DC War Memorial. They had their first dance in this amazing D.C. memorial, you guys. It was amazing. We then walked around to some other memorials, got some pretty neat shots/footage of them being beautiful, and then met up with their family and friends at Teddy And The Bully Bar for dinner and CAKE.

There were too many touching, beautiful, inspiring things about this wedding and this couple. Hopefully what we captured will do them partial justice.

David did a little something different with their film, so be sure to check it out at the end!

melanie and tom. they planned their wedding long distance. they booked me last minute. i met them for the first time on their wedding day. now they live far away and it makes me sad. these two are bright lights. so easy to like and love. this was a wonderful day.

there was so much joy and emotion, it was super hard for me to narrow down photos to share. seriously. this is narrowed down.

plus it was at morning glory farm (where david and i got married!!!!!), so naturally it was peaceful, lovely, and full of beauty.

there was just so much to love about this day, and it was an honor to capture you guys last summer. thank you, mel and tom!!!

photobombing donkey

i have been going back and forth as to whether or not we should post a 2014 recap.

since i basically checked out for all of 2014 [my last photo blog was march—MARCH—yikes] this is going to be less of a recap and more of an…update.

social media, blogging, etc. can be a little [a lot] overwhelming for me—what to post? how much to share? why? i struggle with wanting to be authentic [and i am authentically very private :) ] but also wanting to share the beauty of what we are privileged to do full time. weddings. some of our favorite people. beautiful families just loving on each other. our personal photos as our family continues to grow. plus, it’s good for business. people want to see our most recent work. and we want them to see that we are not a joke. or we at least want them to decide for themselves if they think we are a joke based on our most recent work. :)

we don’t have a ton of traditional resolutions for 2015. we are basically just hoping to survive. to be pleasing to the lord as we navigate all the newness set before us. to be faithful with what we are given. this blog is just a tiny tiny piece of that. a step toward being faithful with business, accountability, growth.

what you will see glimpses of below:

a growing belly. the thing we are THE most excited/freaked out about is that we are going to be meeting our little boy on or around march 7th. first baby. quite possibly the first real responsibility either one of us has ever had. :)

a growing family. we had two siblings get married this year. we love love love our family and will be sharing even more of the festivities as time goes on.

a growing business. honored, humbled, and excited. weddings. engagements. families.

what you will see glimpses of in the future:

a growing belly. haha.

a growing family. baby boy whitlow. and who knows what else?

A growing business. rebranding. more updates, blogs, additions to portfolio. just following where the lord takes us.

2014. what a year. 2015? oh boy.

here are a few highlights…starting with some photos of…me…taken by david. :)
